FLORA YATES SCOTT FRANKLIN - Mrs. Flora Yates Scott, 76, died early Tuesday morning in a Richmond hospital after a long illness. She was the daughter of George Waverly and Mrs. Elizabeth Williams Yates and the widow of Henry D. [sic; O.] Scott. She was lifelong resident of Southampton County and a member of Courtland Baptist Church. Surviving are five sons, Robert Waverly Whitehead of Windsor, William O. Scott of Portsmouth, Ralph T. Scott of Wakefield, Henry O. Scott of Franklin and Charlie R. Scott of Courtland; three daughters: Mrs. Wingate W. Futrell of Capron and Mrs. Vance D. Grisson and Mrs. B.H. Ward Jr. of Courtland; a brother George Herbert Yates of Courtland; 16 grandchildren and nine great- grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted today at 3 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. L.M. Kanipe.
