All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ FRANKLIN SCOTT FRANKLIN - Franklin Scott, 71, a farmer of the Black Creek community, died in Raiford Memorial Hospital early Thursday morning, August 7, after an illness of several weeks. He was the son of James T. and Caroline Bryant Scott of Southampton County. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Kathleen Beale of Victoria; three brothers, Preston Scott of Williamsburg, Menalcus Scott of Suffolk and Charlie R. Scott of Franklin; and nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted in the chapel of W.J.M. Holland & Sons on Friday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock by Rev. Len B. Allen, pastor of Black Creek Baptist Church. Burial was in the Black Creek. Burial was in the Black Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers were R.P. Barrett, L.E. Bradshaw, Alvin Brock, Charles Bulls, A.E. Drewry, C.C. Edwards, A.P. Hatfield and J.R. Tomlin.
