Herbert Scott, Club Manager, Succumbs at 82 

  FRANKLIN - Herbert Hudson Scott, 82, former manager of the Cypress Cove 
Country Club, died early today at his home after an illness of several months. 

  Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Holland Funeral 
Home by the Rev. Edwin C. Thornton Jr., pastor of Beaver Dam Baptist church, 
and the Rev. Harold Tribble, pastor of Hunterdale Congregational Christian 
church.  Burial will be in Beaver Dam Church Cemetery. 

  He was the son of James Urquhart and Susan Corbitt Scott of Isle of Wight 
County and was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist church. 

  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lillie Gardner Scott of the home; two 
daughters, Mrs. Julian Whitley and Mrs. J.G. Joyner Jr. of Franklin; five 
sisters, Mrs. J.F. Carr of Hopewell, Mrs. Harvey Luter of Suffolk, Mrs. O.M. 
Babb of Carrsville, Mrs. J.H. Turner of Franklin and Mrs. Clarence Hedgepeth 
of Holland; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

HERBERT HUDSON SCOTT

   Franklin - Herbert H. Scott, 82, died at his home early Wednesday morning 
after several months illness.  He was the husband of Mrs. Lillie Gardner Scott 
and the son of James Urquhart and Susan Corbitt Scott of Isle of Wight County. 
He was a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church.

   For several years Mr. Scott was manager of the old Cypress [Cove] Country 
Club. 

   Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Julian Whitley and 
Mrs. J.G. Joyner, Jr., both of Franklin; five sisters, Mrs. J.F. Babb of 
Hopewell, Mrs. Harvey Luter of Suffolk, Mrs. O.M. Babb of Carrsville, Mrs. 
J.H. Turner of Franklin and Mrs. Claude Hedgepeth of Holland; ten 
grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

   Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, at 2 p.m. at the Holland 
Funeral Chapel, conducted by Rev. Edwin C. Thornton, Jr., pastor of Beaverdam 
Baptist Church, and Rev. Harold Tribble, pastor of Hunterdale Congregational 
Christian Church.  Burial will be in Beaverdam Baptist Church Cemetery.
