LEONARD LEE SCOTT

   Leonard Lee Scott, well-known farmer of the Franklin community, died at his 
home on the Franklin-Sedley highway Monday morning following an illness of a 
week.  Mr. Scott is survived by his wife, Mrs. Alice Joyner Scott and two 
sons, Crawford and Joe Scott of the community.  He was 65 years old.

   Funeral services were conducted at Joyner’s Church Tuesday afternoon at 3 
o’clock by the Rev. R.D. Stephenson, assisted by the Rev. R.E. Brittle, with 
burial in Poplar Spring Cemetery here.  Pallbearers were R.L. Scott, Asa 
Joyner, R.I. Beale, N.C. Barbour, D.C. Gillette, John Beale, Isaac White and 
Hersey Scott.

*His marriage record gives age 23 on 03-22-1894; if accurate, that would make 
   him about 66 at death.
