All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ LEAFY MARIAN HATFIELD SCOTT FRANKLIN - Mrs. Leafy Hatfield Scott, 44, of the county died in the Medical College Hospital, Richmond, on Sunday, August 3, after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late John N. Scott of Norfolk, and the daughter of the late John Lee and Coralie Mumford [sic; Munford] Hatfield of the county. She was a member of Black Creek Baptist Church. Surviving are a son, Johnny Lee Scott, and a daughter, Vivian Lorraine Scott, both of Franklin; a brother, A. Philip Hatfield of Franklin; a sister, Mrs. O.M. Bailey of Como, N.C.; and nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Scott were conducted in the chapel of W.J.M. Holland & Sons on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock by Rev. Len B. Allen, pastor of Black Creek Baptist Church. Interment was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers were Reuben Barrett, Fenton Beale, Charlie Bulls, A.E. Drewry, E.A. Drewry, Alfred Hatfield, Willard Hatfield and Roland Whitley. Leafy Marian (HATFIELD; Mrs. Johnnie N.)
