TARLTON WOODSON SCOTT, JR.

T.W. SCOTT

   Mr. Woodson Scott, one of the oldest residents of the Franklin community 
died at his home near here January 13, in his eighty-third year.  He was a 
successful farmer, an honest and upright citizen and a good neighbor in his 
community.  The funeral services were conducted from his late residence 
Wednesday afternoon, January 15, at 2 o'clock., interment being made in Poplar 
Spring Cemetery here at 3:30 o'clock. 

   His wife who was a Miss Councill* of this community preceded him to the 
grave about six years ago.  He is survived by four sons, Geo. G. Scott of 
Charlotte, N.C., R.B., R.L. and J.H. Scott of Franklin; by three daughters, 
Miss Eva Scott of Franklin and Misses Carrie and Jeannette Scott of 
Washington, D.C., and one brother, Mr. Geo. W. Scott of Franklin, besides a 
wide circle of relatives throughout the neighborhood in which he was born and 
spent his entire life.  We extend to the bereaved familly our sincere sympathy 
in their hour of sorrow.
