Holland & Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. Edwin C. Thornton. Burial was in Southampton Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Ray Conner, Frank Conner, Cederick Howerton, Bailey Conner, Willie Estes and Robert Allen. Mrs. Staples died Tuesday in her home. A native of Franklin, she was a daughter of Mrs. Henry Estes of South Boston and the late Henry Estes and the wife of Luther B. Staples. Besides her husband and mother, she is survived by a daughter, Miss Candance Bass of Raleigh, N.C.; two step-sons, Luther B. Staples Jr. of Elizabeth City, N.C. and Logan Staples of Hawaii; two brothers, Archie Estes and Thomas B. Estes of South Boston; and a step-daughter, Miss Sharon Anita Staples of Hawaii.
