WILLIAMS STEPHENSON WAKEFIELD - Mrs. Annie Williams Stephenson, 90, died in a Farmville hospital Wednesday, June 27, after a sudden illness. A lifelong resident of Southampton County, she was the widow of John Buck Stephenson and a member of Millfield Baptist Church. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. V.R. Keeton of Roanoke, Mary Emily Stephenson of Blackstone and Mrs. W.C. Swain of Victoria; five sons, Roy Stephenson and Sam B. Stephenson of Wakefield, Charles J. Stephenson and Richard W. Stephenson of Victoria and John Stephenson of Portsmouth; three half sisters, Mrs. Unity Rowe of Richmond, Mrs. J.A. Northcott of Williamsburg and Mrs. Garland Briggs of Fort Washington, N.Y.; two half brothers, Richard Williams of Victoria and Alfred Williams of New Jersey; 18 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Friday at 2 p.m. in the Purviance Funeral Chapel, Wakefield, by Rev. J.L. McTeer of Millfield Baptist Church. Burial was in the family cemetery near Wakefield.
