ELIZABETH GURKIN STEPHENSON

   FRANKLIN - Mrs. Elizabeth Gurkin Stephenson, 48, died Monday morning at her 
home here.

   The wife of Nathaniel E. Stephenson and the daughter of Mrs. Bettie Gray 
Gurkin and the late Grady Gurkin of Jamesville, N.C.  She lived here 16 years 
and was a member of Hunterdale Christian Church.

   Survivors include her widower; her mother; two sons, Edward G. Stephenson 
of Norfolk and James Kenneth Stephenson of Franklin; two sisters, Mrs. Mary 
Grady Barnhill of Plymouth, N.C., and Mrs. Debrow Best of La Grange, N.C.; a 
half brother, Fred Allen of Jamesville; and a grandchild.

   A funeral service was conducted in Poplar Spring Cemetery Wednesday at 3 
p.m. by the Rev. H.W. Tribble of Hunterdale Christian Church.
