All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ EDGAR VICK STEPHENSON IVOR - Edgar Vick Stephenson, Sr., 73, retired farmer and church lay leader, died Friday afternoon, Jan. 23, at his ancestral, Berlin, Southampton County, after a long illness. He was the husband of the former Miss Eleanor Daughtrey, of Franklin, and was the son of Richard Murrell and Mrs. Martha Vick Stephenson. He had been a member of Millfield Baptist Church for 60 years and was a deacon at the time of his death. He was a former chairman of the church board. Besides his wife, surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Olivia S. Lennon, of Amelia Court House; two sons, Edgar V. Stephenson, Jr.; of Ivor, and the Rev. Richard M. Stephenson, of Falls Church; eight grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Floyd Stephenson, of Ivor, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at the residence Sunday at 2:30 p.m. by the Rev. J.L. McTeer, pastor of Millfield Baptist Church, assisted by the Rev. George L. Kissinger. Burial was in the family cemetery. Pallbearers were H.W. Stephenson, Roy Stephenson, R.M. Pond, Otis Joyner, H.W. Wade, and B.F. Boothe.
