All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ FLOYD HOLDEN STEPHENSON Floyd Holden Stephenson, age 65, son of the late Levy W. and Elizabeth Holden Stephenson, died at his home at Ivor last Saturday after a lingering illness. Funeral services were conducted at the residence Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock by the Rev. J.W. Reams of Richmond, assisted by the Rev. Geo. W. Kissinger of Ivor. Clarence Baker of Portsmouth sang a solo "It Is Well with My Soul." Burial took place in the cemetery at Millfield Baptist Church, near Ivor. The casket was covered with a pall of white chrysanthemums, white roses, white carnations and ferns. Mr. Stephenson was a deacon in Millfield Baptist Church for many years, in which church he held membership until his death. He was one of the directors of the branch of the Bank of Sussex and Surry at Ivor. For 30 years he was a member of W.O.W. Camp 146, Va. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Maggie Olivia Stephenson; five daughters, Mrs. W.A. Powers, North West, Misses Hilda, Verice, Adele and Margaret Elizabeth Stephenson, Ivor; two sons, H. Wayland Stephenson of Ivor and A. Holden Stephenson of Bedford; three grandchildren, Calvin Holden Powers, Wayland Stephenson, Jr. and Dianna Stephenson; three brothers, J. Allen Stephenson, Ivor, L. Ernest Stephenson, Wakefield, and Dr. Hack U. Stephenson of Richmond, and a number of nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers were W.C. Rawls, Edgar V. Stephenson, N.S. Boykins, T. Hold Brantley, T.M. Pulley and G.C. Niblett. Honorary pallbearers were friends and relatives of the family.
