A native of Southampton County, he was the husband of Mildred Barlow Stephenson. He was a retired terminal operator for the EXXON Corp. and a Deacon of the First Baptist Church in Suffolk. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Harvey W. Stephenson, Jr. of Broomfield, Colo. and Robert W. Stephenson of Portsmouth; three sisters, Miss Louise A. Stephenson of Norfolk, Mrs. Mary Lewis of Newport News and Mrs. Wortley Tierney of Chesapeake; one brother, Harold E. Stephenson of Portsmouth; one grandson. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, 2 p.m. at the R.W. Baker & Company Funeral Home. Interment Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin. Memorial donations may be made to the Nansemond-Suffolk Rescue Squad.
