JESSE CLYDE STEPHENSON, JR.

   BOYKINS - Funeral services for Jesse Clyde Stephenson Jr., 60, were held 
Monday in Boykins Baptist Church by the Rev. G. Durham Ipock.  Burial was in 
Beechwood Cemetery, with McDowell Funeral Home in charge.

   Pallbearers were: Samuel Stephenson; Joel Stephenson; George Tyler; Scott 
Tyler; Al Stephenson; and Kent Stephenson.

   Stephenson died Saturday in Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin.

   He was a native of Northampton County, N.C. and the husband of Jane Taylor 
Stephenson.

   He was power plant superintendent of Southampton Correctional Center and 
was a member of Boykins Baptist Church; Boykins Volunteer Fire Department and 
Rescue Squad; Boykins Masonic Lodge 287; and Order of the Eastern Star, 
Chapter 68, Courtland.

   Orther survivors include a daughter, Ruth Anne Thomas of Covington; a son, 
Jesse C. Stephenson III of Richmond; and sister, Fannie S. McCoy of Boykins.
