Stephenson, with whom she had made her home for many years, after suffering ill health for more than a year. "Miss Lina," as she was known to a host of friends, was the daughter of the late Alfred and Mrs. Unity Delk Stephenson of this county. Born in a family long prominent and useful in the home community, she was a woman of many rare graces of Christian character, the Stephenson home being a center of generous hospitality. Faithful to her church so long as her health permitted, a kind, generous neighbor, useful and faithful in every relation of life, she had long been an inspiriting to a wide circle of relatives and friends, truly a fine and exemplary woman who will be greatly missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Besides her brother, Mr. Stephenson, she is survived by a number of nieces and nephews, among whom are Lieut. Alfred Stephenson, U.S.A., and Cadmus Stephenson. She was a loyal member of Burdette Baptist Church from which funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 4 o’clock, conducted by a former pastor, Rev. J.T. Garland Moore of Cradock, and the Rev. R.D. Stephenson of Franklin. A quartette from the church sang "Rock of Ages," and Joel Cook Holland sang a solo, "Sunrise." The casket was covered with a pall of white and pink carnations, purple Iris and fern. There were many floral tributes and a large attendance of friends. The active pallbearers were: W.A. Talley, Burwell Boothe, Edgar V. Stephenson, Percy C. Bradshaw, Hoen Edwards, Thomas Rowe, James Tatum and Jacob Pond. Burial was made in the family cemetery at the old Stephenson homestead near Unity.
