All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ MARY EVELYN "MAMIE" COBB STEPHENSON Mrs. Mamie Cobb Stephenson, 75, a resident of Richmond for the past 40 years, died in a Richmond hospital early Friday morning, July 22, after several years of failing health. She was the wife of William J. Stephenson of 216 Roseneath Road, Richmond, and a daughter of the late Edward T. and Margaret Vaughan Cobb of Southampton, who for several years made their home in Franklin at the corner of High and South streets. A sister, Miss Jennie B. Cobb*, died on April 21, last, at the age of 79. Mrs. Stephenson was a member of the First Congregational Christian Church of Richmond. Funeral services were held in the chapel of W.J.M. Holland & Sons on Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock, followed by interment of Poplar Spring Cemetery. Officiating were Rev. R.C. Helfenstin, pastor of the First Congregational Christian Church, Richmond, and Rev. Harvey L. Carnes, pastor of the Franklin Congregational Christian Church. Pallbearers were T.O. Atwill, Lawless Cobb, Robert E. Coggsdale, Earl S. Holland, Henry Holland, John T. Kernodle, Linwood B. Norfleet and John C. Parker. Mary Evelyn "Mamie" (COBB; Mrs. William J.)
