Stutts, aged 51, prominent resident of Franklin and Southern Pines, N.C., died Tuesday night of injuries he received in an automobile accident Monday night near Southern Pines. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Hilda Lawrence Stutts; one son, Joseph Harrison Stutts, both of Franklin; one sister, Mrs. Ansie Johnson of Olivia, N.C., and two brothers, Linwood Stutts of Charleston, S.C., and Roy Stutts of Vass. The body was brought to the Holland Funeral Home where it remained until Thursday afternoon at 1:30 when funeral services were conducted at the graveside in Poplar Spring Cemetery by the Rev. W.B. Watson. Pallbearers were Haynes Britt, John Taylor, Gordon Cameron, Herbert Cameron, Talbort Johnson, Captain H.D. Kellog, Lt. Col. P.G. Weble and W.W. Suckow. Among out-of-town people attending the rites were Mrs. M.A. Beardon of Greensboro and A.R. and Leigh Lawrence of Washington.
