Mr. Sadler was 91 years old, the oldest member of Millfield Baptist Church, in which he served for many years in various capacities. Although disabled in body for a long period of time before his death, his mind was always active concerning the affairs of his church and community, and one of his greatest pleasures was in talking to them to has many friends who called to see him. To emulate his steadfastness in the faith of Christ would be the greatest tribute his friends could pay to his memory. He leaves to mourn his loss a faithful son, Charles A. Sadler of Wakefield, and a host of friends. Funeral services were conducted at Millfield Church on Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 o’clock by his pastor, Rev. T.N. Tombes. Three of Mr. Sadler’s favorite hymns were sung by the choir. He was laid to rest in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers were George Vick, Jr., Archie Gardner, Ralph Scott, Ashby Brantley, Edgar Vick Stephenson and Marvin Duke. Friends of the family served as flower bearers.
