Holland and Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. Robert D. Fridley, assisted by the Rev. John B. Douglas. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers were M.B. Harris, R.F. Chester, Seth Atkinson, Marvin Land, Harold Overton, Roy Duke, M.E. Barrett and H.S. Rawlings Sr. Stone, 64, a retired agent of Atlantic and Danville Railroad, died Thursday morning in his home at 604 High St. He was the husband of Mrs. Alvis Long Stone and a son of Samuel Swanson and Mrs. Emma Elizabeth Callahan Stone. A native of Mecklenburg County, he lived here 16 years. He was a member of High Street Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge 51, and Railroad Brotherhood. Besides his widow, surviving are three brothers, Samuel Swanson Stone Jr. of Meggetts, S.C., Richard E. Haskins of Roanoke, and Robert C. Haskins of Narrows; and a sister, Mrs. Louise H. Bunch of Eufala, Ala.
