In recent weeks she had improved sufficiently to visit among her neighbors and even to appear at church, so that her family had been encouraged to hope she was on the road to recovery. But her condition took a sudden turn for the worse only a short while before she passed away. Mrs. Steinhardt was a native of Nansemond County, the daughter of the late John Parr and Mrs. Narcissa Norman Parr. She was a beloved and active member of High Street Methodist Church. Besides her husband Mrs. Steinhardt is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Ray P. Widmer of Aulander, N.C., and Mrs. Phoebus Jones and Mrs. Harold A. Purnell of Franklin. Funeral services will be held this afternoon (Friday) at 3 o’clock at the residence with Rev. E.W. Aaron, pastor of High Street Methodist Church, officiating, assisted by Rev. Roscoe Jones of Petersburg. Interment will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery. A fuller account will appear in next week’s paper. ****************************************************************************** MRS. STEINHARDT IS BURIED FRIDAY P.M.
