He was the husband of Mrs. Gladys Cutchin Story, and the son of Dellie Thomas and Mrs. Lizzie Miles Story of Newsoms. Surviving him are his wife and parents; a son, George W. Story, Jr., and a daughter, Jeannette Elizabeth Story, both of Courtland; and a sister, Mrs. Russell Davis, and a brother, H.T. Story, both of Emporia. Funeral services were conducted at the Courtland Methodist Church on Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock by Rev. R.B. Moore of Newsoms, pastor of Mt. Horeb Methodist Church, assisted by Rev. O.L. Gilliam, pastor of the Courtland Methodist Church. Burial was in the Courtland cemetery. Active pallbearers were Julian Fowler, Howard Story, John Mallet, Garland Davis, Melvin Simms and L.M. Griffin.
