He was a member of the Newsoms Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lillie Holloman Story; a son, James T. Story, Jr., of Newsoms; five daughters, Mrs. M.B. Drewry and Mrs. Malcolm Coleman of Boykins, Mrs. E.B. Prince, Jr. of Newsoms, Mrs. Thomas Icard of Gainesville, Fla., and Miss Kathryn Story of Newsoms; and nine grandchildren. Last rites were held at the grave in Newsoms Cemetery on Friday afternoon at 4:30 o’clock, with Revs. R.B. Moore and R.L. Chadwick officiating in the presence of a large number of friends and acquaintances. The casket was covered with a pall of red roses, Easter Lilies and baby’s breath, and there were many other floral tributes. Pallbearers were Jack Bunn, Ray Bunn, R.W. Champion, Ryland Fowler, Dr. J.J. Grizzard, Dr. Ashby Pope, Gladstone Story and John Worrell.
