Burial will be in Newsoms Cemetery, with Wright Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were Hubert Bridges, Bobby Branch, Edward Hotchkiss, Stewart Drake, James Matthews, Jack Prew, Johnny DeBello, and R.C. Kennington. Story died Sunday in Norfolk General Hospital of injuries he received when a train struck his car early Friday morning near Franklin. A native of Franklin, he was the husband of Mrs. Barbara Edwards Story and the son of Mr. and Mrs. R. Edward Story of Newsoms. He was a foreman of the Machine Shop of Murfreesboro, N.C. and a member of Barnes United Methodist Church. Other survivors include a daughter, Miss Barbara Jo Story, and a son Lawrence P. Story Jr., of the home; a sister Mrs. Dianne S. Mawyer of Afton; and a brother, Edward C. Story of Smithfield.
