He was the husband of Mrs. Bernice Umphlett Story and a son of A.L. and Mrs. Indiana Cobb Story. He was a painting contractor. Besides his widow, surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Russell Gayle Jr. of Franklin; a brother, Raby B. Story of Portsmouth; and three grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home by Dr. R.E. Brittle. Holland and Sons Funeral Home by Dr. R.E. Brittle. Burial was in Southampton Memorial Park. Pallbearers were R. Baird Cabell, J. Vaughan Beale, Dr. W.T. Thornhill, Howard Carr, W.C. Woodard, Virgil E. Miller, Robert Howell and Lee Watson. A native of Southampton County, he was a member of Hunterdale Christian Church.
