Mr. Story had been in failing health for several years and was confined to his bed for five weeks prior to his death. He was the son of the late John Washington Story and Roxanna Burgess Story of Southampton County. Mr. Story was 55 years old having been born June 13, 1877, at Handsom, Southampton County, and spent all of his life in this county. He was a most successful farmer, his occupation until a few years ago when ill health prevented and since that time had been a barber in the town of Capron. Mr. Story was a member of the Capron M.E. Church and Sunday school and a regular attendant whenever his health permitted. He was a man with a big heart and always ready to give service whenever needed so far as he was able. The patience with which he bore his suffering gave every indication of a mind resigned to the will of his Heavenly Father. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Annie Crutchlow Story; one daughter, Miss Lizzie I. Story and one son, Will H. Story, all of Capron. On Friday, July 1, at 3 o’clock the funeral services were conducted from the home by his Pastor, Rev. R.H. Marks, assisted by Rev. A.K. Lambdin of the Newsoms Methodist Church, Rev. A.W. Coates of the Capron Baptist Church and Rev. W.H. Riddick of Capron. Mrs. H.M. Purviance of Boykins sang "At Ev’ntide" and a quartette, "The Old Rugged Cross" was sung by Mr. and Mrs. L.W. McGrath, Mrs. H.L. Bain and Rev. A.K. Lambdin, a favorite hymn of Mr. Story’s. Interment was made with Masonic rites in the family plot of the Capron Cemetery beneath a mound of numerous and lovely flowers, tokens from his many friends. The active pallbearers were eight of his intimate friends, H.L. Bain, G.A. Lankford, L.W. McGarth, W.D. Reese, B.J. Scarborough, Dr. J.N. Applewhite of Capron, Dr. James A.
