FRANKLIN - A funeral service for Joseph T. Starke Jr., 62, was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Wright Funeral Home by Dr. R.E. Brittle. Burial was in Southampton Memorial Park. Pallbearers were: Matthew Jones, Joe Spence, Ashley Vaughan, Leroy Cutchins, Rudolph Ezzell, H.S. (Red) Jones, Mark Turner and Mickey Fowler. Starke died Sunday in his home.* A native of Southampton County*, he was the widower of Elsie Carr Starke. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a member of Hunterdale Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of Sedley Baptist Church. Survivors include a brother, Randolph B. Starke of Capron; a half brother, Nelson Starke of Jarratt and nieces and nephews.
