  Mr. J. A. Sledge, a well-known citizen of Southampton county, 
who came here on a visit a few days ago, died yesterday of pneumonia, 
after a brief illness.  His remains were taken home by his widow to-day, 
for interment.

   age 45, with wife Lucy (23).
