SMITH A funeral service for Alvin J. Smith was conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland at 2 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. Darden Battle. Burial was in Sycamore Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were J. Marvin Brinkley, Frank Kelly, Lloyd Stafford, Jesse Harrison, Rupert Tart, Dick Wagenbach, Charles R. Kingery and Jimmie Rideout. Smith, 48, of 414 Chestnut St., died Monday morning in Southampton Memorial Hospital. A native of North Carolina, he was the husband of Mrs. Manie Taylor Smith and a son of Willie W. and Mrs. Eunice Bradshaw Smith of Beauford County, N.C. He was a watchmaker for Franklin Jewel Box. He was a Baptist. Besides his widow and parents, surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Suzette Craun of Harpers Ferry, W. Va. and Miss Alexis Anne Smith of Franklin; and two sons, Robert Alvin Smith and David Michael Smith of Franklin. Alvin J.
