Hudgins of Franklin Baptist Church. W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home was in charge. Pallbearers were Dr. J.W. Lambdin, Clay Camp, W.M. Camp Jr., Clements Gouldman, Arthur Vaughan, Sol W. Rawls Jr., J.M. Camp Jr., and R.B. Allport Jr. Mrs. Smith, 81, died in Southampton Memorial Hospital Thursday morning after a brief illness. She was the widow of Thomas Walter Smith Jr.* and a daughter of Forrest and Mrs. Lucy Jagoe Ellis. She was born in Hopkinsville, Ky. and lived in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil a great many years. She moved to Franklin from Southern Pines, N.C. twelve years ago. She was a member of the Christian Church. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. John E. Ray III of New York; a son, William Ellis Smith of Sao Paulo, Brazil; and nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. Margaret (ELLIS; Mrs. Thomas W.
