TYNES SMITH Mattie Tynes Smith, 47, wife of William Albert Smith of Franklin and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.W. Tynes of Roxobel, N.C., died at Raiford Hospital Monday following a short illness. Besides her husband and parents she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. W.G. Morrisett and Miss Doris E. Smith of Franklin; three sons, William Otis Smith of Franklin, Robert Smith of Roanoke Rapids and W.A. Smith, Jr. of the Panama Canal Zone; three grandchildren; two sisters, Miss Grace Tynes of Jackson, N.C., and Mrs. R.E. Byrd of Franklin; three brothers, C.C., E.E., and Peter Tynes of Roxobel. Funeral services were conducted from the residence Tuesday afternoon conducted by Rev. R.D. Stephenson, interment following in Poplar Spring Cemetery. A quartette composed of Mrs. F.E. Howell, Mrs. G.E. Johnson, Percy Bunch and E.K. Brinkley sang "The Old Rugged Cross: and "Face to Face" accompanied by Mrs. Henry Duck. Active pallbearers were T.C. Whitley, J.R. McLane, Calvin Edwards, W.B. Wellons, Jim Turner, L.A. Whitley, Ray Davidson and D.W. Fearing. Martha P. "Mattie" (TYNES; Mrs. William A.
