MAXINE TINSLEY SMITH 

   FRANKLIN - A funeral service for Maxine Tinsley Smith, 61, was held 
at 3 p.m. Monday in Southampton Memorial Park by the Rev. Jim Wilkins. 
Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, was in charge.

   Mrs. Smith died Friday in a hospital.

   A native of Staunton, he was the wife of Jessy Carl Smith.  She was 
a Baptist and was a part senior regent of Franklin Moose Lodge.

   Other survivors include a son, Carl Emory (Butch) Smith, and a 
daughter, Donna Mayor Smith, of Franklin; a sister, Frances Clemmer of 
Staunton; and a brother, Kenneth Tinsley of Altoona, Pa.
