He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Emma Grant Smith of Capron, Va.; three sisters, Mrs. Daphne Smith Hodges and Miss Elizabeth Lee Smith, both of Capron, Mrs. Virginia S. Johnson of Franklin; three brothers, Phillip C. Smith of Pittsburgh, Pa., J. Spotswood Smith of Delano, Tenn., George Blackwell Smith of Lookout Mountain, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be conducted 3 P.M. Sunday at Capron Cemetery, Capron Va. Remains rest at the Echols Funeral Home, Emporia. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Capron Volunteer Rescue Squad.
