VIRGINIA JOYNER SMITH

   Franklin - A funeral service for Mrs. Virginia Joyner Smith, 55, was held 
Saturday at 11 a.m. in Wright Funeral Home by the Rev. Donald C. Trump. Burial 
was in Poplar Spring Cemetery.

   She died Thursday morning in her home of Pretlow Street.

   She was a native of Southampton County and the widow of Howell Smith.

   Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Vicki M. Turner of Suffolk; two sisters, 
Mrs. Maggie J. Pope of Capron and Mrs. Ruth J. O’Clair of Franklin; and a 
grandchild.
