William Shands, died Thursday in Southampton Memorial Hospital. A native of Greenville County*, she was a daughter of John William and Mrs. Bettie Goodwin Ridley. She was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. Surviving are two daughters, Miss Letitia C. Shands and Miss Bessie T. Shands of Courtland; a son, William R. Shands of Bon Air; two sisters, Mrs. Elliott Vawter of Huntington, W.Va., and Mrs. G.H. Musgrave of Leesburg; and a brother, Churchill G. Ridley of Courtland. The body was taken to Holland Funeral Home, Franklin. A funeral service will be held today at 2:30 p.m. in Riverside Cemetery by the Rev. Robert E. Davis of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.
