Carolyn Boothe Saunders

  CULPEPER - Mrs. Carolyn Boothe Saunders. 69, died Tuesday, Sept 5, at the 
Culpeper Baptist Retirement Center. 

  Mrs. Saunders was a native of Wakefield.  She was a deacon in the Millfield 
Baptist Church of Ivor, on the Board of Trustees of The Virginia Baptist 
Retirement Center, she was a volunteer in numerous church and civic 
organizations throughout her life.  She was a graduate of Longwood College of 
Farmville, and the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago.  She was the widow of 
Rev. Leander T. Saunders and the daughter of the late Myrtle Leah Williams 
and Burrell F. Boothe.

  Survivors include three daughters, Rebecca S. Hayes of Warrenton, Rachel S. 
Woodside of Culpeper and Martha L. Saunders of Richmond; a son, Burrell F. 
Saunders of Virginia Beach; a sister, Margaret B. Ashby of Disputanta; and 
four grandchildren. 

  A funeral was held Friday, Sept. 8, at 11 a.m. in Warrenton Baptist Church 
of Warrenton.  A graveside funeral service was held in Ivor Cemetery, on 
Saturday, Sept. 9, at 11 a.m. by Rev. Frank Crawford of Milllfield Baptist 
Church of Ivor.
