She was the daugher of Mrs. Mollie Joyner and the late Ryland Joyner. Besides her mother she is survived by her husband, Charlie R. Saunders, one son, Charlie R. Saunders, Jr., two daughters, Miss Alice Faye Saunders, all of Ivor, and Mrs. Edward G. Bradshaw of Portsmouth, three sisters, Mrs. Clifton Carr, Mrs. Henry Bracey and Mrs. Susie Brom of Ivor. ****************************************************************************** FLORENCE ESTELLE JOYNER SAUNDERS IVOR - Mrs. Florence J. Saunders, 53, wife of Charlie R. Saunders, died Thursday in a Williamsburg hospital after a week’s illness. She was a native of Southampton County and spent most of her life in Isle of Wight County. She had moved to Ivor two weeks ago. She was a daughter of Mrs. Mollie Joyner of Ivor and the late Robert Ryland Joyner. She was a member of Antioch Christian Church, Windsor. Besides her mother and husband, surviving are one son, Charlie R. Saunders, Jr., of Ivor; two daughters, Miss Alice Faye Saunders of Ivor and Mrs. Edward G. Bradshaw of Portsmouth; and three sisters, Mrs. Clifton Carr, Mrs. Henry Bracey and Mrs. Susie Brown of Ivor. Funeral services at 2 p.m. at the Purviance Funeral Chapel, Wakefield by the Rev. J.W. Collins, pastor of Pine Grove Assembly Church. Burial was in Antioch Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Elton Stephenson, Wilroy Stephenson, Noah Joyner, Willie Brown, Will Stieh, Jr., and C.R.
