Hold Service For Mrs. Saunders 

  IVOR - Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon for Mrs. Florence 
Joyner Saunders, 53, of Ivor, at the Purviance Funeral Home and burial at the 
Antioch Christian Church near Windsor. 

  She was the daugher of Mrs. Mollie Joyner and the late Ryland Joyner. 

  Besides her mother she is survived by her husband, Charlie R. Saunders, one 
son, Charlie R. Saunders, Jr., two daughters, Miss Alice Faye Saunders, all of 
Ivor, and Mrs. Edward G. Bradshaw of Portsmouth, three sisters, Mrs. Clifton 
Carr, Mrs. Henry Bracey and Mrs. Susie Brom of Ivor.

FLORENCE ESTELLE JOYNER SAUNDERS

   IVOR - Mrs. Florence J. Saunders, 53, wife of Charlie R. Saunders, died 
Thursday in a Williamsburg hospital after a week’s illness.

   She was a native of Southampton County and spent most of her life in Isle 
of Wight County. She had moved to Ivor two weeks ago.

   She was a daughter of Mrs. Mollie Joyner of Ivor and the late Robert Ryland 
Joyner.

   She was a member of Antioch Christian Church, Windsor.

   Besides her mother and husband, surviving are one son, Charlie R. Saunders, 
Jr., of Ivor; two daughters, Miss Alice Faye Saunders of Ivor and Mrs. Edward 
G. Bradshaw of Portsmouth; and three sisters, Mrs. Clifton Carr, Mrs. Henry 
Bracey and Mrs. Susie Brown of Ivor.

   Funeral services at 2 p.m. at the Purviance Funeral Chapel, Wakefield by 
the Rev. J.W. Collins, pastor of Pine Grove Assembly Church.  Burial was in 
Antioch Church Cemetery.

   Pallbearers were Elton Stephenson, Wilroy Stephenson, Noah Joyner, Willie 
Brown, Will Stieh, Jr., and C.R. Clements.

  Mrs. Florence J. Saunders, 53, wife of Charlie H. Saunders, of Ivor, died

Mrs. Saunders Died Thursday 

  Mrs. Florence J. Saunders, 53, died Thursday, November 3, in a Williamsburg 
hospital after an illness of one week.  She was a native of Southampton 
County, but spent most of her life in Isle of Wight County and had moved to 
Ivor two weeks prior to her death. 

  She was a member of Antioch Christian Church and a daughter of the late 
Robert Ryland Joyner and Mrs. Mollie Gay Joyner of Ivor. 

  Besides her mother, she is survived by her husband, Charlie R. Saunders of 
Ivor; a son, Charlie R. Saunders, Jr., of Ivor; two daughters, Miss Alice Faye 
Saunders of Ivor and Mrs. Edward G. Bradshaw of Portsmouth; 3 sisters, Mrs. 
Henry Bracey, Mrs. Clifton Carr and Mrs. Susie Brown, all of Ivor. 

  Funeral services were held on Saturday at the Purviance Funeral Home at 
Wakefield.  Rev. J.W. Collins of Piney Grove Assembly of God officiated. 
Burial was in Antioch Church Cemetery. 

  Pallbearers were Wilroy Stephenson, Elton Stephenson, Willie Brown, Will 
Stieh, Jr., Noah Joyner and C.R. Clements.
