Holland & Sons Funeral Home, Franklin, by the Rev. Bobby Tyson. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Courtland. Pallbearers were Carl Bond, Edward O. Bond, G. Hinnen Davis, Warren A. Simmons, David C. Simmons, Donnie L. Simmons, James K. Simmons and Mills Thomas Robinson. Mrs. Simmons, 83, died Monday morning in her home. A native of Greensville County, she was the widow of Robert A. Simmons and a daughter of William E. and Mrs. Rebecca Hill Spain. She was a member of the Women’s Society of Christian Service of Courtland Methodist Church. Surviving are three daughters Mrs. Hattie S. Bond and Mrs. Helen S. Davis of Courtland, and Mrs. Bernice S. Gillette of Capron; three sons, Robert B. Simmons of Walters; James Kilby Simmons, and F.A.
