Miss Simmons was a faithful communicant of Barnes M. E. Church, and her Pastor, Rev. C.F. Mosely, conducted services at the residence last Saturday afternoon at 3 o’clock, assisted by Rev. A. McK. Reynolds of the Franklin High Street M. E. Church. Pallbearers were Lee Thorpe, C.R. Everett, Ashby Worrell, Ralph Barrett, Gordon Brett, Dick Railey, Rosser Bryant and V.D. Thorpe. Burial was in the family cemetery. Miss Simmons was the daughter of Mrs. Nancy Caroon Simmons, who survives her, and the late Walter Vann Simmons. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. W.T. Smith of Portsmouth and Mrs. J. Bynum Everett of Newsoms; and five brothers, Ray, Jim, and Wallace Simmons of Statesville, and Leland P. Simmons of Franklin and Leslie W. Simmons of Norfolk.
