B.W. Coe, pastor, and Rev. E.E. Ballard of Buckhorn Baptist Church. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers were Gilbert Whitley, Ashley Darden, Thomas Dougherty, Martin Cobb, Gardner Britt, Stanley Myrick, Harry G. Barrett, Jr., and H.A. Barrett, Jr. Samuel Raymond "Ray" SIMMONS, retired farmer, b. 29 Mar 1887, Southampton Co., d. 19 Mar 1963, Ahoskie, NC, interred in Poplar Spring Cemetery (Annex 3, Section B, Plot 32*), Franklin, 21 Mar 1963, "The Tidewater News" (Franklin, VA), Mar. 25, 1963, Sect.
