All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ GEORGE ROLEY TABOR WILMINGTON, N.C. - George Roley Tabor, 41, of 438 Decatur Drive, representative of the International Brotherhood of Pulp Sulphites and Paper Mill Workers, died Sunday afternoon in Cape Fear Memorial Hospital after a sudden illness. A native of Roanoke, Va., he was a son of the late George Roley and Mrs. Omer Lee Tingle Tabor. He lived here three years and was a member of Winter Park Baptist Church. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Evelyn Johnson Tabor; three sons, George R. Tabor III with the Navy of Guam and Steven R. Tabor and Timothy Wade Tabor of the home; a daughter, Sherri Leigh Tabor of the home; three brothers, Howard Tabor of Norfolk, Leroy Tabor with the Merchant Marine Service, and Leonard Tabor of Utah; and two sisters, Mrs. Muriel Freeman of Norfolk and Mrs. Gladys O’Conner of Richmond, Va. The body was sent to W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home, Franklin, Va. where a funeral service was held Thursday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins of Franklin Baptist Church. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers were Leroy Crosby, Russell Ange, Kendall Hardee, George Hedgepeth, John T. Claud, Morriss Simmons, Ray L. Cutchins and Don B. Walker.
