DAVID CHARLIE TUCKER 

   NEWSOMS - A funeral service for David Charlie Tucker, 53, of Newsoms, 
was held Friday at 3:30 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home by 
the Rev. Harry Bunch.

   Burial was in Newsoms Cemetery.

   Pallbearers were E. Beale Carter, Jr., Calvin Vick, J.C. Bunn, Jr., 
Marvin Cook, Fred Worrell, Charles Bunn, Ben Ivey and J.L. Porter.

   A native of Southampton county, he was the husband of Mrs. Alese 
Bailey Tucker and a son of Mrs. Minnie Porter Tucker and the late Andrew 
Walter Tucker.

   He was a farmer.

   He was a member of Newsoms United Methodist Church.

   Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. 
Priscilla Leigh Griffith and Miss Sandra Melissa Tucker of Newsoms; two 
sons, Charles Douglas Tucker and Walter Steven Tucker of Newsoms; three 
sisters; Mrs. Lila Whitehead, Mrs. Lucy Harrington and Mrs. Gertrude 
Parker, all of Portsmouth; three brothers, Joseph S. (Tom) Tucker of 
Calif., Andrew W. (Dick) Tucker and Robert A. Tucker of Newsoms; and two 
grandchildren.
