He was a member of the Franklin Baptist Church. He was a retired accountant from Union Camp Corporation and until recently operated his own accounting office. Surviving are his wife, Ruth Williams Tucker; two sons, Dr. William T. Tucker of Richmond and Robert J. Tucker, Jr., of Acton, Mass.; one brother, T. Guy Tucker, of Petersburg; 6 grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the graveside in Poplar Spring Cemetery by the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins. The body is at the W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home. ****************************************************************************** ROBERT JAMES TUCKER SR. A funeral service for Robert James Tucker Sr., 85, of 302 Lee St., Franklin, will be held today at 11 a.m. in Poplar Spring Cemetery by Dr. Ira D. Hudgins. A native of Franklin, he was the husband of Mrs. Ruth Williams Tucker and a son of Robert and Mrs. Martha A. Tucker. He was retired as an accountant of Union Camp Corp. He then opened his owned his own accounting business and retired again two years ago. He was a member of Franklin Baptist Church. Besides his widow, surviving are two sons, Dr. William T. Tucker of Richmond and Robert James Tucker, Jr. of Acton, Mass.; a brother T. Guy Tucker of Petersburg; and six grandchildren.
