A native of Stokes County, he was the husband of Mrs. Martha Picot Tucker. He was a retired pipefitter of Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was a deacon of Buckhorn Baptist Church, Como Ruritan Club, and honorary member of Murfreesboro Rescue Squad. Other survivors include two sons, Sandy T. Tucker of Richmond, Va.; and Carl E. Tucker of Portsmouth, Va.; a stepson, Sherman N. Joyce of Suffolk, Va.; a brother B. Tucker of Eden; three sisters, Mrs. Ruth Jerkerse of Baltimore; Mrs. Erna Reynolds and Mrs. Gladys Fagg of Eden; two grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. in Buckhorn Baptist Church by the Rev. Delbert Burnette. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Garrett Funeral Home in charge. Memorial donations may be made to the Murfreesboro Rescue Squad.
