A native of La Grange, N.C., he was a son of the late William Levi and Varina Pate Taylor. He had resided in Ivor for the past 35 years. He was a founder and director of the Wakefield Hunt Club and a member of the Millfield Baptist Church Sunday School. Surviving are his wife, Annie Barlow Taylor; his son, Robert T. Taylor of Smithfield; three daughters, Mrs. A. Meredith Felts of Ivor, Mrs. Leonard J. Wegman of Anamosa, Iowa, and Mrs. Lloyd Miller of Richmond; her sister, Mrs. Rosalie Britt of Mount Dora, Fla., and 12 grandchildren. Graveside services were conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Ivor Cemetery. The Rev. J.L. McTeer, pastor of Millfield Baptist Church, officiated, with the Rev. L.P. Bland, pastor of Ivor Methodist Church, assisting. Pallbearers were Roy Stephenson, Raby Cornwell, H.W. Wade, C.W. Kitchen, Julie Bulls, Thomas Pulley, E.V. Stephenson, Jr., Ryland Beale and Marvis Felts. Members of the Wakefield Hunt Club served as honorary pallbearers.
