ROBERT NORMAN TAYLOR

   A funeral service for Robert Norman Taylor was conducted at 11 a.m., Monday 
in Emmanuel Episcopal Church by the Rev. Robert E. Davis. Burial was in Poplar 
Spring Cemetery with W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home in charge.

   Pallbearers were Norman Collins, Allen Jones, Hubert Atkins, William Battle, 
Paul Key and George Mills.

   Robert Taylor, 8 drowned Saturday near Poplar Spring Cemetery when he fell 
through thin ice covering a pond while trying to retrieve a basketball.

   A native of St. Mary’s Ga., he was the son of Edward S. and Mrs. Sarah Rock 
Taylor.

   He was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church and Cub Scout Den 2, Troop 105.

   Besides his parents, he is survived by a brother, Edward S. Taylor, Jr., 
three sisters, Mary Kathryn Taylor, Elizabeth Ann Taylor and Joan Rock Taylor; 
and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert F. Taylor of Norfolk.
