All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ ROSA LEE BARNES TAYLOR Mrs. Rosa Lee Barnes Taylor, 57, a resident of Franklin but formerly of the Newsoms community, died in Raiford Memorial Hospital on Thursday afternoon, September 9, after a brief illness. A member of the Newsoms Baptist Church, she was a daughter of the late Henry T. and Mrs. Nannie Vick Barnes of the county. She is survived by three sons, Lonnie L., Otis L. and Walter E. Gray, all of Franklin; two daughters, Mrs. D.W. Clements of Brodnax and Lloyd Edwards of Emporia; eight grandchildren; one brother, Robert L. Barnes of Handsom; and three sisters, Mrs. V.M. Bryant of Boykins and Mrs. Claude Drake and Mrs. Jean Drake, both of Newsoms. Final rites were held in the chapel of W.J.M. Holland & Sons on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, with Rev. L.F. Smith, pastor of the Newsoms Baptist Church, officiating. Interment was in the Newsoms Cemetery. Active pallbearers were E. Beale Carter, Ernest Cogsdale, Russell Drake, J.T. Ivey, G.T. Miles, Lonnie Porter, R.L. Porter and J.T.
