Mrs. Thomas was the wife of the late James Leonard Thomas, and the daughter of the late Timothy and Martha Vaughn Boyette of Southampton County. She was the sister of the late J. Riddick Boyette of Franklin. She is survived by three sons, Chester Thomas of Miami, Fla., Clyde Thomas of Portsmouth, and George Thomas, of Washington, D.C.; a step-daughter, Mrs. Nannie Johnson of Suffolk; 18 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charlie Boyette of Windsor and Willie Boyette of Suffolk, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted in the chapel of the W.J.M. Holland & Son Funeral Home on Saturday, February 13, at 2:00 by the Rev. R.D. Stephenson. Interment was in Poplar Spring Cemetery.
