All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ MARION AUDUBON THOMAS Marion Audubon Thomas, 71, a former resident of the Courtland community died in his sleep early Monday morning, September 3, at his home at Log Manor, Spencer, Henry County. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Roy Priddy Thomas of Spencer; two sisters, Mrs. J.P. Wilkerson of San Angelo, Tex. And Miss Lucille Thomas of Temple, Tex.; a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Thomas, whose widow formerly lived in Boykins, were held at 4 o’clock Tuesday afternoon in the Boykins Baptist Church, with Rev. N.B. Habel, pastor, officiating assisted by Rev. Marshall W. Anderson. The choir sang "Saved By Grace;" and Mrs. H.M. Purviance, accompanied by Mrs. Earl W. Bryant at the organ, sang "No Night There." Interment was in Beechwood Cemetery, the active pallbearers being N.S. Beaton, Dr. J.M. Bland, J.M. Britt, Walter H. Britt, H.B. McLemore, Jr., Elmo Pittman, V.S. Pittman and J.W Pulley. Honorary pallbearers were friends of the family.
