She was the wife of Arthur G.* Tomlin and daughter of Julius and Alice Copeland Butler of Nansemond County. Mrs. Tomlin was a native of Nansemond County and a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. Surviving besides her husband are four sons, Oscar V. Tomlin of Pennsville, N.J., Roy G. Tomlin of Carrsville, James A. and William A. Tomlin of Franklin; one daughter, Mrs. Leona Cutchin of Franklin; two sisters, Mrs. Doris Potter and Mrs. Lessie Taylor of Portsmouth; two brothers, Norman Butler of Nansemond County and Billie Butler of Suffolk; 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. A funeral service was conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home with Edwin C. Thornton Jr., pastor, Beaver Dam Church officiating. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers were John Edward Rose Jr., Charles Futrell, J.F. Duke Jr., Cecil Miles, Robert Johnson and William Rose. Bertha Mae (BUTLER; Mrs. Arthur M.)
