FRANK THOMAS THORPE

   BOYKINS - A graveside funeral service for Frank Thomas Thorpe, 74, of 
Newsoms, was held Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the Thorpe Family Cemetery with 
the Rev. Harry Bunch, pastor of Barnes United Methodist Church, officiating.

   Pallbearers were Dick Whitley, Joe Everett, Harry Barrett Jr., R.E. Drake, 
Jr., Thomas Darden and John B. Thorpe Jr.

   A native of Southampton County, he was a son of Thomas Wesley and Mrs. 
Martha Darden Thorpe.

   He was a member of Barnes United Methodist Church and lived in Como, N.C. 
for 30 years.

   Surviving are two sisters Mrs. Mary Alice Bryant and Mrs. Carrie T. Vick, 
both of Newsoms; two brothers, Lee L. Thorpe of Newsoms, and Roland V. Thorpe 
of Denbigh; and a number of nieces and nephews.
