JETER - A NEGRO SHOT WHILE ASSAULTING A POLICEMAN - THE OFFICER DISCHARGED - BIG EXCURSION TO WASHINGTON. [Correspondence of the Richmond Dispatch.] August 25, 1876. [...] A very sad bereavement is reported in family of Mr. William J. Traylor, on Old street. On Tuesday his brother, Mr. Thomas Traylor, of Southampton county, arrived here with his wife and children to pay a visit of a few days. Leaving his family, Mr. Traylor went on to Richmond. Yesterday two of his children - Ida, aged nine, and Walter, aged four years - were taken with congestive chills. The girl died at 5 o'clock and the boy at 7 o'clock. The mother, overcome by the sudden bereavement, was rendered extremely ill. Physicians remained at her bedside all night, and to-day her condition is very critical. The children had slight chills on Tuesday, which, on their recurrence yesterday, were developed into severe congestive chills, resulting fatally in a few hours, as stated above. Their funeral will take place from Grace church to-morrow morning at 11 o'clock. [...] Ida T. TRAYLOR, daughter of Thomas J.
